What Is

CoreXpression?

CoreXpression provides technical dance training, dance performance availability, and dance choreography.  CoreX emphasizes an in-depth exploration of movement, well rounded knowledge of dance history, and enforces memorization of dance vocabulary.

Mission Statement:

To provide youth to adult with the art of dance as an outlet and voice of expression; As a life tool instilling  discipline, self control, and respect;  And as a learning tool giving more visual and auditory practices toward learning.

Dance is my voice when I have no words to       express the conditions of my hear, mind, and soul.”

-Angela Dearman

Dallas native, Angela Dearman was first  exposed to the art and technique of dance at the University of North Texas where she received her bachelor of arts degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance.  Training in modern and ballet technique based classes, Angela became a three year member of Freedom Dance Ensemble, an African dance student organization which displayed various types of dance and art skill.

After graduating cum laude in 2004, Angela became a member of Dallas Black Dance Theatre II. For the 2004-2005, 2005-2006 seasons she trained intensely in Horton Technique modern dance style, contemporary ballet and performed throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Denton, and Longview annually.  In 2006-2007 Angela was accepted and enrolled in an Independent study program at Ailey School in New York City. On returning to Dallas in 2007, she reengaged with Dallas Black Dance Theatre II (DBDTII) for another season. During that same year Angela jump-started her own classes, CoreXpression, where she instructs in Ballet, Modern and African dance.

In addition, Angela is the modern instructor in the Horton Technique at City Ballet, an African dance instructor for Dallas Black Dance Academy and has taught for individual companies like Big Thought, DISD, and Teco Theater.  After the birth of her daughter Ayanna in 2008 until 2011 Angela became a member of HappyNia Dance Productions, Dallas dance and theater company.  She is presently continually studying the art of dance as well as performing and instructing.
